How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (T-Mobile)
Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights on your Android device. Once we root our Android device, we can then make changes to it to customize it well beyond what it normally can do.
Once you have root access on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (T-Mobile), you’ll be able to:
- Remove apps that were preinstalled by your carrier/manufacturer from your device.
- Free up storage space (because of the above benefit).
- Increase battery life (apps that might have been running constantly can be removed).
- Increase performance (after removing apps that are always running, the device will be less bogged down and run smoother).
- Update to a new version of Android (by flashing a custom recovery/ROM, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).
- Tons of other customizations when you use your new found administrative rights to flash a custom ROM (again, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).

Hi,
first: Thanks! Good and easily explained.Everyone can follow.
But what do you mean always with (T-Mobile)?
I’ve got the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 3G+Wifi model (). Will this root work for my phone?
If not, do youve got any idea where to get such a ROM? I was searching for Ages!
Hello,
The T-Mobile variant of the device is different than the other variants. On your device, head to Menu > Settings > About phone (or About tablet). Check the Model number and it should say SM-T217T. This number varies with each variant of the device and you should only do the procedure that is FOR your device.
You shouldn’t have any issues rooting your device using the procedure above as long as the variant you have is from T-Mobile.
Hope it helps!
I don’t see any file named “universal root zip” on any of the linked pages. Does it go by another name or something?
I want to thank you. I was trying to root it, I did a different set of instructions, bricked the device. I figured I had nothing to loss, I did the CWM steps, it booted it worked. you did save my device. now on to the rooting. Thanks for saving my device.
