How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo

Unrooting your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo means to do the opposite of rooting. It removes the root-access from your device, leaving your device as fresh as it was when you bought it off the store. There’re many advantages of unrooting your device, one of them being getting your warranty reinstated. So here you go.

Some of the reasons for unrooting your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo are:

  • Sending in the device for warranty (most, but not all unrooting procedures reinstate the manufacturer warranty if you had one before rooting).
  • Starting over (simply undoing everything you did while rooted so you can have a clean slate to start over).
  • Fix any issues (Maybe rooting messed something up? No problem, unrooting will take care of it for you).

Ready to get started? Here’s how to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo:

I. Before You Begin

1. You should’ve rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. This should only work on Windows based PCs.

3. You should’ve appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you haven’t, download and install the latest drivers from the Samsung website.

4. This only works for the SM-N750 model. To find out what model you have, head to Menu > Settings > About phone and your model number should be listed there.

II. Downloading Required Files

1. Download Odin and save it to your desktop.

4. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the Odin.

5. Put a checkmark in the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

6. Turn OFF your device.

7. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.

8. Press Volume UP and you should be in Download mode.

9. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

10. One of the boxes in Odin should turn yellow indicating your device’s been recognized by your PC.

11. Hit Start in the Odin and it’ll start flashing the firmware on your device.

12. When the firmware’s been flashed, your device should automatically reboot.

13. And you’re all set!

  1. My phone came rooted out of the box. Because of this I am unsure of what software has been installed on the device before I received it so I want to unroot and completely reset the device. The problem is because I didn’t root it, I don’t know if I can unroot it using this method as the first step says to make sure it was rooted using a specific procedure.

    1. Hello Shariz,

Usually, phones do not come rooted out of the box. Did you buy a new phone or an old phone (from your friend or someone?)?

No matter what procedure you used to root your device, you can use the above procedure to unroot your device. It should work without any issues, so go ahead and unroot your device.

      Hope this helps!

  2. Can I use any version or any os version on the stock firmware list to unroot my phone.or I must use the same version and os version.TQ
