Official: Gingerbread update for the Motorola Droid X coming this Friday, May 27
If you aren’t already rocking the unofficial leak that escaped Moto’s strongholds last month, you will only have to wait till this Friday to step up to Android 2.3 on your Droid X. The update was hinted at recently on the Motorola Support Forums and Verizon has now made the news official. Sized at 112MB, the update will bring the usual Gingerbread goodness along with a few of Motorola’s own tweaks including a new blue Blur onlay for more eye candy and better ActiveSync support.
The rest of the devices in the Droid series – Droid Pro, Droid 2 and Droid 2 Global – should also be seeing themselves updated very soon, we’ll keep you posted on further developments on that end as they emerge.
