Google Phone Imminent?
Apparently via Twitter, a bunch of Google employees have announced that they have all gotten the Google phone at a staff meeting recently and have been letting us all know their opinions on the phone.
So while all the employees are calling it the Google Phone, we’re not sure if this is the Google branded phone we heard about or if this is just an HTC Bravo (or even if those two phones might be one in the same).
But regardless of what phone this is, we’re positive of one thing. It’s coming soon 🙂

The bit about “unlocked ATT” is a let down for Verizon customers who have been believing the rumors that the phone was intended for VZW. If this is the Passion then hopefully PassionC will get worked out with verizon soon.
wonderbread57: Test units usually are GSM unlocked… Just like the dev. phones… Don’t read to much into this… It’s normal…
Just heard that there is one Verizon phone that uses a sim card too.. So hey… U never know…
Looks 3.5″ to me.. WTF…lol

Humn…
where is theunlockr!!! bad time for site to go down!
how about the latest fcc filings, is that telling us gsm only for now?
Do you think they may be talking about the “Nexus One”?
I hope this bad boy is coming to tmobile. They were the first to come out with Android so they need to step it up and have the best handset on the market and not let the other companys do better….
i guess nothing has really ruled out what we were hearing, TMO in early Jan, and VZ in late Jan….
Dave, why do you say that? Did I miss something? Not being rude, just inquiring.
well, right about when the bravo info leaked (in the htc roadmap thing) the rumors flew about TMO getting it early in Jan and VZ getting it in late Jan. Then the nexus one/is it the google phone or not hysteria began and shortly thereafter we hear that TMO will be releasing it early Jan. Info has stopped there. Nothing more supporting a VZ model, nothing discounting it either.
the only shred of “its not going to verizon” “evidence” I can find is the speculation that verizon said no to the google phone. But I really think it was inevitable that someone would try to draw the comparison to their alleged decision not to sign on with apple. And even if they did say “no” to the “google phone” it really has nothing to do with a variant of the phone.. aka the bravo/passion/not-the-mystical-google-world-changing phone. Obviously Verizon is not saying “no” to google in general, they have just begun a new partnership! (Someone cue the pictures from the press conference a couple months ago.
htc “incredible” coming to verizon…. maybe this is it? engadget report.
My guess is that the Incredible is the Bravo, maybe with some different styling cues, that Verizon will be getting in Q1. So it’ll have the same features as the Nexus One, but an optical trackpad. Since it’s HTC, it will have Sense UI. Don’t see how this isn’t a bigger win for Verizon customers than getting the Nexus One. Awesome!
agreed, prefer the sense ui to stock android
The more info leaks out about the phone the less impress or even logical is sounds for google to release it… The only thing that can save it for me is the out of pricing contract for it…
And HTC is making it even harder with their Rosie update…

If this phone is $200 or less out of contract… Then I will probably get it and hope for it to be rootable & that Rosie 2.1 will be ported… I would love a hybrid of the Nexus UI & Rosie UI… Seems Rosie UI might not have the live wallpaper & a few other things..
Will have to see… I know if it is possible, TheUnlockr will have the step by step’s…
