Google Voice New Option: Port, Integrate, or Simply Keep Your Number for $20

Google Voice gives it’s users the ability to have one phone number for all their phones, including their cell phone, home phone, and buisness phone. While the service has come a long way, users can now take advantage of their latest number setting options.

The days of cheating on your long time Google Voice phone number are over. It’s stressful to think you’ve had your phone number for what seems like forever and the thought of having to change it seems just down right mean. Until recently, Google Voice users who tried to change their number, ported over to Google Voice, or opted in for the Sprint 1 Integration (where your Sprint number becomes your Google Voice number) your previous Google Voice number would stay on your account for 90 days before Google took it back. Now due to a new setting option, you can have the option to port, integrate, or simply keep your old number.

Here’s how, go to the Settings tab in Google Voice and select “make permanent” (within 90 days) and presto, you get to keep your digits for a one time administration fee of $20.00. You will now be able to receive incoming texts and calls to both, while your outgoing texts and calls will only show your replacement (so don’t forget to let your contacts know).
