LG Optimus Black Coming to Most US CDMA Carriers
Thanks to the FCC listings, we now know that the LG Optimus Black will be hitting most CDMA U.S. carriers. A core LS855 model is headed to Sprint, while AS855, US855, and VM855 should reach Alltel, Virgin, and US Cellular. The primary expected updates will be 3G and the switch over to CDMA for the device.
The device is currently marketed as LG’s mid-tier smartphone. Highlighted specs include a 480×800 Nova display, a five-megapixel rear facing camera, and a two-megapixel front camera for video chat. Currently the device is baked with Android 2.2 with no confirmation if it will receive the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update by the time it makes it to the U.S.
The device is expected to make its U.S. launch in October.
