Mozilla Firefox Fennec coming to Android in February?

Ok, so if it is one thing I miss from the Nokia N900 that my Nexus One doesn’t have (or any other phone for that matter) is a good desktop-like browser. The browser on the N900 is hands down the best I’ve used on a mobile device (but I won’t get into that right now), and things like Flash, plug-ins, and some form of an one screen mouse (for those flash games/sites that require a mouse for hovering to bring up controls) are things I find myself missing on a daily basis using other browsers.

Well, the makers of the Firefox browser on the N900 have declared that their Android browser will be ready for beta testing as early as February. It may not have all of the features I liked about the browser on the N900 (its Fennec and not full blown Firefox like on the N900), but I’d be happy to see what they bring to the table. I also hope that if it doesn’t have the features I want, it at least starts some type of Browser war and someone finally makes a good browser.

Those are what are important to me in a browser, what about you guys? Some features you guys are hoping for? Find yourself also wanting a better browser or is the default one good enough?

  1. A flash player and a fast javascript engine is important. Plug-ins would be nice. I constantly miss adblock plus on my phone.

Did you find any list of features for the Android Fennec anywhere? I couldn’t find any clarifications over whats in it or not on the mozillawiki.
