Sprint-bound Motorola Pax leaked, sports portrait QWERTY
In addition to the Moto XPRT that is already on its network, Sprint might have another monoblock QWERTY Android in the works – the Motorola Pax, as revealed by ThisIsMyNext. The site was fortunate enough to come by a few pics of the device and a peek into what kind of specs the device has – compared to the XPRT’s 1GHz processor, the Pax will come with a dual-core processor running at an unspecified clockspeed and will have support for Sprint’s CDMA 1X Advanced PTT service. It is also speculated that the device will come with Gingerbread 2.3 onboard but this isn’t confirmed, as are the other specs.
We are not big fans of portrait QWERTY – having a physical keypad right below a virtual keypad that pops up seems quite pointless. Granted, it may give the user a much more solid feel when typing and minimize errors but a slide-out QWERTY keypad sounds much more viable in reducing the overall length of the device and give more thumb space for easier typing.
Coming back to the Pax, we’ll let you know when we know more, so stay tuned.
