Samsung Galaxy S II LTE with better specs and 4G support to be showcased at IFA
With Verizon dropping the device in light of Samsung losing out to Apple recently on the lawsuit filed by the latter company, it remains to be seen if the Galaxy S II will ever cross over to the US border. But this latest announcement from Samsung leads us to believe that the company is still hoping to do so, and to keep things interesting, will be adding in a few more improvements to an already stellar device, if SammyHub is to be believed.
The latest version, dubbed the Galaxy S II LTE, will feature both GSM and WCDMA network support alongside, obvious by its name, 4G frequencies. The processor also gets a tiny push up to 1.5GHz running on two cores, which puts it on par with the Nexus Prime’s rumored specs and a beefier battery of 1850mAh to support the improvement. The touchscreen display will also be 0.2 inches bigger than the original 4.3 inch version but other bells like WiFi, Bluetooth, and the 8-megapixel shooter will remain the same.
We’ll keep a lookout for this behemoth when we are covering the IFA event in Berlin, which is due to start next.
