Netflix App Now Supporting All Android Froyo and Gingerbread Devices

After popular demand, Netflix has finally updated its mobile app to support all mobile devices running on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platforms. The app originally launched earlier in May of this year but only supported a few devices, which left many movie junkies wanting more.

Users with non-supported devices were often turning to leaked .APK files to try and get the Netflix service up and running. Now users can simply head on over to the Android market to get the updated app without any fuss.

  1. Almost….but wait….apparently it doesn’t support the LG G2X from what I’ve read.  I installed it on mine and my wife’s phone and it doesn’t open.  It acts like it might, and then closes down.  Thanks Netflix, yet another reason I can cancel my account.  I use Hulu more anyways.
