AT&T Confirms Acer Iconia Tab A501 September 18th Launch, $330 With Contract
As summer is drawing to an end, AT&T has announced it will begin selling the Acer Iconia Tab A501 as promised. The 16GB model will be available on September 18th for $480 or $330 with a two-year contract.
When the tablet was first unveiled many assumed it would be a “4G” device, but AT&T confirmed this means HSPA+, not LTE in this case. Regardless, the device does offer up a full-sized USB port, so that is still a plus for anyone in the tablet market now. As confirmed by an Acer rep, the tablet will come Android 3.0 out of the box and users can expect an OTA 3.1 update to follow. We just aren’t sure exactly when that will happen.
If there are any Acer enthusiasts out there that will be scooping this Honeycomb slab up, be sure and let us know how the tablet treats you.
