Amazon Kindle Tablet Still Poised to be Top Android Tablet, Despite Recent Sales Projection
In an overcrowded tablet market, the expectations are riding high for Amazon’s upcoming Android based Kindle tablet. An earlier report had Amazon projected to sell a staggering 4 million Amazon Kindle tablets this year. Now a new analyst report places a more realistic stake in the ground, citing only 2 million devices to be sold this year.
Despite the latest projections being slashed in half, the Amazon Kindle tablet is still poised to be the number one selling Android tablet this year. According to an early report, the Amazon Kindle is widely expected to launch at a competitive $250 price point. Providing the speculated price point holds true, we’ve already seen what the right price does to the consumer market–in the case of the HP TouchPad fire sale. Yes, $250 is a bit higher than $99, but it’s still 50% less than what Apple’s iPad retails for.
The Amazon Kindle tablet is expected to launch in November, just in time for the holiday shopping madness. We’ll be extremely interested to watch the success of the highly anticipated tablet. Would you purchase it if the price and specs were just right?
