Samsung Commits to Shipping Out the Galaxy Tab 8.9, In Stores October 2nd
Today at an event, Samsung pledged their commitment in shipping out the Galaxy Tab 8.9 to retailers by the first week of October. The device which is currently up for pre-order through Best Buy, now has Samsung’s promise that it will be in store by October 2nd.
Samsung designed the Galaxy Tab 8.9 to better align itself as a stiff competitor for Apple’s iPad 2 as both devices are measured at just 8.6mm thick. However, Samsung enthusiasts can look forward to the Galaxy Tab 8.9 being the first slab to ship with Samsung’s latest TouchWiz interface, which will run on top of Android 3.1 Honeycomb.
Additional Galaxy Tab 8.9 specs include 1280 x 800 resolution, a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and dual three and two megapixel cameras.
If you haven’t taken the tablet plunge yet, and are looking to get your hands on one this October, you can pre-order the 16GB Galaxy Tab 8.9 for $469.99 through Best Buy.
