Samsung Omnia W with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango coming later this year
Samsung has revealed its first entrant into the WinPho 7.5 realm, the Omnia W. If you guys remember, the Omnia series was a well-known line of Windows Mobile smartphones that did really well in their time, before the iPhone or the G1 stormed the market and changed everything.
Anyways, coming back to the Omnia W, it sounds like a decent device with a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display that is capable of spitting out resolutions of up to 800×480, runs on a 1.4GHz single-core processor using 512MB RAM, and features a 5MP camera. These do not sound that high end, but this may be because Sammy wants to test the waters with his toe before putting his whole foot in, depending on how well this Mango device will do commercially before thinking on higher end devices.
The Omnia W is supposedly getting ready for a release in the UK initially later on this year, so we’ll know then what this device will cost exactly and where else it will be available.
