Flickr Unwraps Android App, Features Real-Time ‘Photo Session’ Sharing
The popular photo sharing service Flickr, finally unwrapped their Android app to the delight of many anxious Android users. Available for free in the Android Market, the application enables the user to become their own smartphone paparazzi with the option to capture, filter and upload their images directly to Facebook, Twitter or Flickr, directly from their Android device.
Designed for both the novice and aspiring smartphone photographer, the app also comes equipped with camera functions like flash, ratio selection, shutter focus, and ten high-quality filters.
These features aside, most of the excitement surrounds the application’s social feature dubbed Photo Session. Essentially the feature allows users to peruse images real-time alongside their buddies (also using the Flickr app). A user simply has to organize some Flickr friends together and initiate a Photo Session to start living vicariously through your friend’s photos. When the user moves to the next image, the action is mirrored in the friend’s stream, basically creating a real-time slide show.
