Apple Quickly Releases iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 to Work Out Rough Patches
Apple swiftly released iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 to their developer center in an attempt to rectify issues stemming from its first beta build (iOS 5.0.1 beta) released earlier this week. Developers can retrieve the update now via an iTunes sync or an Over The Air (OTA) update.
The initial iOS 5.0.1 update was intended to solve reported battery issues that numerous users have reported since either upgrading to iOS 5 or buying a device with it pre-installed. Apple has yet to determine the exact cause for the battery drain. However, it is speculated among the developer community that it could be either a flawed contact cloud sync or something related to the location-based time zone settings.
It seems to early to tell how Apple plans to fix the annoying issue currently plaguing iOS 5 users, and we’ll probably see a few more iOS 5.0.1 betas roll out before a hard solution surfaces.
