Nokia N900 PUSH in the USA Winner Announced
At CTIA, Nokia announced their N900 PUSH in the USA winner… drumroll… it’s the Bike Dashboard! Congrats to team BrettSarah Tops (not sure but I’m guessing this team is composed of a Brett and a Sarah?)! Not only do they get bragging rights but they also walk away with a nice prize of $10,000!
Their winning concept, Bike Dashboard, was what you get when you combine an N900 and a bicycle. The N900 was mounted in between the handle bars with a sensor connected to the bike’s wheel to determine it’s speed and how far the bike had travelled that was then displayed on the N900. The N900 could also display routes travlled via it’s built in GPS and even had a button for a horn. Here’s some videos of the Bike Dashboard:
Feeling bad for the runner ups? Well don’t. They may not have gotten the $10k prize, but they still walked away with $5000 and $3000 for 2nd and 3rd place, plus they had some pretty cool stuff.
Check out 2nd place winner, Niko the N900-brained robot with an undying obedience to twitter:
And the third place winner, Pit Crew, which is an N900 controlled slot car race on one of those old tracks when you were a kid 🙂
Congrats to all the winners! Cool to see what a root enabled linux based phone can do, no?
