Gingerbread update for Samsung Fascinate up for field testing – rollout to follow soon?
The Samsung Fascinate seems to be one of the few original Galaxy S variants that have the misfortune currently of still hanging on to Froyo – courtesy of Verizon – while most other versions of the device have had Gingerbread for a while now and are looking forward to the next pastry. That said, it seems that the carrier hasn’t forgotten the handset completely, as the device is currently being field tested with Gingerbread, which could only mean the update should be out pretty soon – or not, if the testing fails on the current build and the Big Red decides to move on to the next build to test.
If the rollout is in the offing, we should be seeing this version (SCH-I500.EH03 based on Android 2.3.5) of the update leak soon – we’ll be the ones to let you know if that happens, so stay tuned.
