New Phone: LG Ally

By David Cogen

So you might have seen LG’s new commercials featuring the new LG Ally in a very Iron Man 2 sorta way. Well, we now have some more details on the device. Besides the specs that follow, it seems that the phone is headed for Verizon, and most likely exclusively but we’ll have to see on that. Here are the specs we have now:

3.2″ Capacitive Touch Screen
Rumored 1 ghz or higher processor (people are basing this on the fact that it has live wallpapers and only phones with 1ghz or higher seem to be able to run live wallpapers)
Running on Android 2.1
Slide out 4 row QWERTY Keyboard with a D Pad for Navigation
Will be introduced on May 20th and is rumored to be coming to Verizon
Camera with Flash (unknown resolution, but if I had to guess I’d say 5MP)

Anyone on Verizon waiting for a QWERTY keyboard phone? Might choose this over the Incredible?

  1. I replaced my BB Curve with the Ally. Best phone swap I’ve ever done. Android so blow RIM out of the water and LG has a way better sounding phone the RIM. Now, just looking for a custom ROM to get 2.2 early. Anyone got ideas there?
