Verizon CFO Confirms Shared Family Data Plans For Mid 2012

Earlier this year Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam alluded to the fact that the company would offer shared data plans in the future. Shortly after, leaks of a new back-end system surfaced, but we still didn’t have a confirmation of when to expect the new shared data plans. However, we now have an expected time frame from Verizon’s CFO Fran Shammo. Shammo explained to a group of investors that family data plans should launch during the middle of 2012. Additionally, Shammo stated that the transition to a new billing system would be a slow and gradual process, and that shared data plans was an “important part of the ongoing transition to 4G and its future plans for mobile”.
