Volume+; a viable solution to audio woes on the Galaxy Nexus
The update released last December to address this specific problem might have fixed the low volume on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but I personally feel the volume could have been a bit more higher, in comparison with other devices. There were times when I couldn’t even hear a notification sound, but a bit of searching led me to Volume+, a solution that has really done the trick.
The app, available on Google Play in both paid and free versions, boosts the volume up on the Gnex (or any other device) to a considerable level, with none of that tinny sounds that are usually associated with higher-than-usual tones. It also features custom EQ settings which enables users to customize the sound output to their liking and if they don’t want to bother with that, a Max Volume Setting, where they could crank it up to a high 20 or a moderate 15.
While the free version is usable, the full app has many more settings, with less than $2 as the asking price. Check it out on Google Play if you think your device needs a volume boost!
