How to Disable Camera Sound on Samsung Galaxy S2

If you have been using Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone to take pictures, then you might have noticed the sound it makes each time you capture a photo. It’s annoying for some people and there’s no option in the Settings menu to disable it. To solve this, here’s a quick-guide explaining how you can disable your Galaxy S2 camera sound.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have ADB installed on your PC. Learn how to install ADB.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Download the local.prop.rar file from here.

III. Disabling Camera Sound on Galaxy S2:

1. Extract files from the local.prop.rar archive and put them inside the ADB folder on your PC. It is the folder where you’ve installed ADB.

2. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Double-click on runme.bat file to push the file to your phone.

4. Disconnect your phone from the PC.

5. Reboot your phone.

That’s it. You’ve successfully disabled camera sound on your Samsung Galaxy S2 and you’re now ready to capture photos at any calm place.

  1. When I press the runme.bat in the C:\android-sdk\platform-tools folder with the local.prop present… a quick CMD screen pops up and doesn’t push the file into my phone. How can we fix this?

  2. I don’t find (or know where) the “runme.bat” file is located. I have completed all the steps up to this one. Any direction??
