How to Root Samsung Galaxy Mini
Want to install the apps which require Superuser access on your Galaxy Mini? No problem, here’s how you can root your phone and get the Superuser app.
I. Before You Begin:
1. The warranty of your phone will be voided once you root it. However, you can regain the warranty by either applying stock firmware or unrooting your phone.
2. Make sure that your phone has enough battery life left so it can last through the whole process.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Download the Root Package from here. (Download link is in the third post)
III. Rooting Samsung Galaxy Mini Smartphone:
1. Download and place the Root Package on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable that came with it.
3. Transfer the Root Package file to your phone’s SD Card Root folder. Do NOT put it into any deep folder.
4. After the file transfer has been finished, disconnect your phone from the PC.
5. Turn OFF your smartphone using the Power button.
6. Boot your phone into the recovery mode. To do so, press and hold Menu+Power buttons simultaneously and you will enter recovery mode within a few seconds.
7. Choose update from SD card option from the recovery menu.
8. Choose the Root Package file you just transferred to your phone for flashing.
9. When the flashing is done, reboot your phone.
That’s all. You have successfully rooted your Galaxy Mini smartphone. Now, when you turn ON the phone, you will see the Superuser app installed on it.

Is it safe to root ur phone AFTER u updated the android version?
Before rooting any device, make sure to check the first section, as it may contain which version the root method works on. Sometimes, a root method works on all the versions.
How can i get that link…?
Go to the Forum Thread and scroll down until 3rd post, look for the link there.
Thanks!
Link dosen’t work anymore …
P.S: I got android 2.3.6, is it possible to root ny device with this?
I rooted the phone, the app is there, now what? There doesn’t seem to be a further procedure to transfering apps to SD card when you enter the Superuser app and on phone settings it still doesn’t allow me to move apps to SD card? Have I missed something?
The Superuser app is meant to provide root access to the apps requiring for it.
To move apps to SD card, you need to download a separate app from Google Play. Following is the link to an app that lets you move apps to SD card on your device.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&hl=en
Thanks Sami!
That app tells me all my apps cannot be transfered to SD
Yeah, it’s true. You can’t move all the apps to SD card. Some apps are unmovable, they’ve to be on your phone memory to keep functioning.
Thanks!
what did the original rooting and Superuser app actually do if the new app tells me none of the apps can be transfered? or have I done something wrong?
In order to successfully move apps to SD card, follow the steps given below:
(1) Root your device
(2) Make sure that the Superuser app is there on your Menu
(3) Download this app – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&hl=en
(4) Open the App and select any app you want to move to SD card.
You’re done!
Thanks Sami!
by flashing, you mean all my files and contact list will be deleted?
Nop, it’ll just flash the Superuser ZIP to inject root access to your device.
None of your files will be touched.

What’s this bloody “Download manager” rubbish? Do you HAVE to link to malware???
We always try to link to the original thread, where you can find legitimate links to download files instead of malware-infected files.
The link’s working fine and doesn’t have malware on it.
It DOES have malware, don’t download this rubbish. Follow the Cyanogenmod instructions instead.
Link provided on section 2 not working.
Its download some virus on my pc.
Please provide a new link or direct access to that software.
On a different yet related note, does anybody know which android version would most suit galaxy mini?
2.3.6 / 2.3.7 or 2.2.1
Kindly advise, as my phone is not recovering when pressing menu+power button.
