Android Donut Sneak Peek
So Google has finally released the code for Android Donut (which also turns out is NOT 2.0 as originally thought, but a version somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0).
And reported new features are as follows:
- System wide MultiTouch (conflicting reports on whether this is true or not so time will finally tell).
- Universal Search
- Text to Speech
- Automated Backups
- New Camera App (the original is horrible, so thank god)
- and Better Performance
Also one other noticeable feature that will not make any current Android owners excited, but will get some Sprint/Verizon users excited; CDMA Support Built In to the OS. Which means that a CDMA release (on Sprint most likely) is imminent.
Also the main person who seems to be providing images and some news abotu features is Cyanogen from XDA-Developers.com. Which means to me, that we might have a Donut custom ROM in the works for those with Rooted G1’s. 🙂
