Sony Rolls Out the ICS Red Carpet for 8 Additional Devices
Just last week we caught wind that Sony quietly decided to update the Xperia P with Ice Cream Sandwich, and now it appears that the company is pushing ICS out to 8 additional devices.
According the official Sony Xperia Product Blog, ICS is scheduled to roll out to the arc, arc S, neo, neo V, mini, pro, active, and ray “starting from this week”. Update times for these devices will depend on what country you live in, as local carriers have to approve the update before it becomes available to your device.
Don’t worry just yet if your device hasn’t received the ICS update, as Sony is standing firm behind its plan to rollout the update to more devices in the following weeks. We’re expecting the Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo L and Live with Walkman to be next in line for ICS, which should take place during the next few weeks. If you’re currently running Gingerbread will have to use Sony’s PC companion software to upgrade your device, but if you’re already running an earlier version of Ice Cream Sandwich, you will be able to update your software over-the-air.
