How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Huawei Mercury M886

The ClockworkMod Recovery is not famous just for its ROM installation feature, but it is famous because of the ability to take backups of your current ROM as well as wipe the cache on your device. I. Before You Begin:

2. Make sure your device is charged to have at least 60% of battery life.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ClockworkMod Recovery Image (Download link is given in the first post)

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Huawei Mercury M886:

1. Place the downloaded Recovery Image on the Desktop of your PC.

2. Turn OFF your smartphone using the Power button.

3. While your device is turned OFF, press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.

4. Connect your smartphone to the PC using the USB cable.

5. Your smartphone will be mounted as a drive on your PC.

6. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the storage of your smartphone and find the file named recovery.img and copy it to a safe location.

7. Now, copy the Recovery Image you have on your Desktop to the folder where the old recovery.img was.

8. Disconnect your smartphone from the PC after the file is copied.

9. Turn OFF your smartphone.

10. Pull out the battery and put it back in the smartphone.

11. Press and hold Volume UP+Power buttons together to turn ON your smartphone.

There you have it ! The ClockworkMod Recovery has now successfully been installed on your smartphone. With the help of it, you can now install the custom ROMs to enhance your experience as well as improve performance of your smartphone.
