How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Samsung Repp (SCH-R680)
Want to flash a custom recovery on your Samsung Repp smartphone? Sick and tired of using the same old stock firmware and want to try out some latest custom ROMs? No worries, we’ll help you do that. While rooting gives you privilege to access system-files, a custom recovery lets you flash custom ROMs on your device. Such ROMs when installed, provide users with a bunch of extra options that aren’t normally available in a stock ROM. This guide should walk you through all the steps to flash a custom recovery on your Samsung Repp. Here you go:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Check out our How to Root the Samsung Repp procedure to root your device.
2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, you can get them from here.
3. This procedure works on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. ClockworkMod Recovery (Download the Odin version given at the bottom of the first post)
III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Samsung Repp (SCH-R680):
1. Download and place the CWM Recovery archive onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Double-click on the Odin executable file and it’ll open.
4. Checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and One Package.
5. Click on OPS and select the repp.ops file you just extracted to your Desktop.
6. Click on One Package and select the reppcwm.tar.md5 file you have on your Desktop.
7. Turn OFF your device.
8. Reboot your device into Download mode by pressing and holding the Volume UP+Power buttons together.
9. Once inside Download mode, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
10. Hit Start in Odin and it’ll start flashing the recovery.
11. Once the recovery’s been flashed, your device will automatically reboot.
12. And you’re done!
Brilliant! You’ve successfully flashed the CWM Recovery on your Samsung Repp smartphone. Your device’s now capable to be flashed with custom ROMs and Mods!
