Acer W4 with Windows Phone Mango spotted
Microsoft’s mobile OS savior, the Windows Phone Mango, was spotted running on an Acer phone at Computex Trade Show in Taipei recently. Specwise, the Acer W4 is identical to the current crop of Android/WP7 devices with a 1GHz processor, 3.6-inch 800×460 WVGA display, 5MP autofocus camera, and 8GB of internal memory.
There’s also WiFi, Bluetooth and the like for connectivity but what we need to focus on right now is the WP Mango OS, which we haven’t gotten to see on actual devices – not counting the demo at the time of unveiling. The picture you see above is a mockup of the actual W4, giving us just an idea of how the device looks, though we would have dearly loved to see the real phone in action, including its multitasking ability and the host of other features shown off at the Mango event.
There are no details on its release date or its pricing yet, so stay tuned and we will get you more on that.
