Amazon Tablet In the Works With Aggressive Pricing, Sets Sights on Beating the Competition

According to a recent report from the New York Post, Amazon is pushing to launch their upcoming Android tablet for “hundreds less” then Apple’s iPad 2. The Amazon slab is expected to hit retailers either in September or October with an emphasis on its aggressive pricing.

“If Amazon is particularly aggressive on pricing, that could be a trigger for many players to rethink the sales price of tablets,” said Charles King, the lead analyst at Pund-IT

Amazon has reportedly been working on two tablets, an entry level dual-core device dubbed the “Coyote”, and a higher end quad-core slab, the “Hollywood”. The tablets are expected to launch running on Android’s OS and heavily integrated with Amazon products. These services could include the Amazon App store, Amazon’s Cloud drive, and the Kindle e-Book store.
