How it works:
Once you download the app, you can immediately begin playing. The home screen allows you to either start a game or play in practice mode. Starting a game is simple. At the top of the screen the app will display the name of an organ and you have to tap the organ as fast as you can to score points. You are awarded precision points (accuracy) and time bonus points (speed). If you tap the incorrect organ the app will make a buzzer sound and you can continue onto the next organ. There are no points deducted for selecting a wrong organ. The app will highlight in yellow the correct organ and will display a blue pinpoint of what you selected. If you can commit your incorrect selections to memory this will help you when the organs reappear. You can see a running total of correct answers on the bottom of the screen as a quick view of how well you are doing.
The app runs you through 28 levels including an overview of bones, muscles, arteries, veins, respiratory system and digestive system also more detailed levels covering bones, lungs, pharynx, larynx, nasal cavity, oral cavity, dentition, liver, pancreas, brain, auditory system and visual system.
Conclusion:
Speed Anatomy is the perfect way for adults to sharpen their brain muscle while having fun. The 28 different levels keep you on your toes and also encourage competitiveness with bonus points for speed. It took me a few weeks to really sharpen my accuracy using this app, but now I am playing for sheer speed. I’ve been out of school for a while now, but it’s a good feeling to know what and where my vermiform appendix is. This app would also be perfect for anyone studying human anatomy in middle school or high school, as it would be a fun educational study tool. If you’re into anatomy or fun brain puzzles, then Speed Anatomy is a must have.
