ASUS admits bug in the ICS update for the Transformer Prime, working on fixing it
While the Android 4.0 update may have left the ASUS labs last week, many Transformer Prime devices didn’t get it due to a bug that prevented the OTA update from reading the tablet’s serial number, hence actually stopping the update from being completed. ASUS, quick to recognize the problem, came right out and admitted to the mess, promising a fix soon.
In an effort to do the same, the company has currently opened up a thread over at XDA to work on the issue and also offering a workaround to grab the ICS update. According to the thread, users facing problems will have to reset the tablet and let the device remain active after for at least 15 minutes with WiFi on, enabling it to connect to ASUS servers and download the update. This is in no way an actual fix, but according to the ASUS rep on ASUS, they seem to be very close to getting it working, but until then that seems to be the only way to update to Android 4.0.We’ll let you know when the fix is released and if the workaround suggested ASUS worked for you, tell us your first impressions of ICS on this awesome tab in the Comments section below!Source
