ASUS Introduces the Affordable MeMO Pad: 7″ Tablet, $150, Coming This April

Going against the grain this year, ASUS waited until after CES came to an end to  unveil their latest 7″ device. Dubbed the “MeMO” pad, the tablet is entering right in the affordable,  mid-sized tablet niche with it’s appropriate $150 price tag.

While the spec highlights  won’t wow your socks off, they do include Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 1GHz processor, Mali-400 graphics, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. A 16GB option will also be available, while both versions feature additional storage via microSD. ASUS was able to keep the price tag low by keeping the display resolution down to 1024×600 and passing on a rear camera.

Don’t expect the MeMO to compare to the Nexus 7, but if you’re looking to keep costs low for a 7-inch slate, then this may be a viable option to look into come April. The full press release awaits readers below.

ASUS MeMO Pad™ runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1GHz VIA WM8950 CPU and a Mali-400 GPU for a smooth and fluid entertainment experience. It features a 10-point multi-touch LED-backlit display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 140-degree wide viewing angles, and its 350-nit brightness means images remain clear, even outdoors. MeMO Pad™ also features ASUS SonicMaster audio and MaxxAudio for high-quality sound.
ASUS MeMO Pad™ offers up to 16GB of internal storage, which can be supplemented by up to 32GB via the microSD card slot.
