Barnes and Noble Releases iOS, Android, Nook, and Roku Apps For Nook Video Service
Barnes & Noble has confirmed the release of iOS, Android, Nook, and Roku apps for its Nook Video service. The series of apps will enable users to watch movies and TV shows that they’ve rented or purchased from the service. Users are also able to watch any items their UltraViolet collection. Videos can also be downloaded for offline viewing.
The release of these mobile apps allows Barnes & Noble to better compete with Netflix, Redbox, and more importantly, Amazon. Barnes & Noble plans to heavily push their video services at shoppers of their existing online stores, while suggesting users watch the video through their tablets.
