Best Buy Possibly Receiving More HP TouchPads Next Week?
It was no secret that HP was sitting on approximately 200,000 TouchPads before the drastic fire-sale was enacted. Now that the ridiculously priced slabs are all sold out, except for on eBay, it has left consumers inexplicably disappointed that the webOS magic is finally over. Or is it?
An internal notice, which popped up in the Best Buy Employee Toolkit, was leaked by an insider to Droid Matters. The notice indicates that Best Buy will once again receive TouchPad shipments. Employees are being instructed to use a ticket system to deal with potential swarms of eager bargain hunters. Additionally, instructions are provided on how to obtain customer information for anyone requesting to purchase a TouchPad.
We have to disclaim that while this certainly sounds like good news for tech-turned-bargain junkies everywhere, don’t keep your fingers crossed too tightly. However, if the notice holds to be true, Best Buy could start to see TouchPad shipments in the middle of next week. Also keep in mind that different areas have different shipping schedules, and we’re not sure if the notice applies to Best Buy stores everywhere or just select areas.
Ironically, HP’s own website has the TouchPad still listed as “temporarily out-of-stock”. Pair that with the leaked notice and that’s enough to keep our eyes peeled on next week’s events.
I just called our local Best Buy and they said this isn’t true. They claim they will not be getting any more in.
I just went to MY local Best Buy in Rochester, NY – they confirmed that more are coming in this week.
