Cellular South gives $100 off an Android phone for a switch from iPhone

In what can only be seen as a bid to steal away Apple fanboys to the Android camp, Cellular South is offering $100 off on an Android handset in lieu of an AT&T iPhone, which will have to be handed over physically to the carrier.  Customers ready to make this traitorous switch will also get a reimbursement on their AT&T early termination fees in the form of a credit against their Cellular South bill, which could be up to $300. The Android devices on the list include the HTC Desire and the ever-popular Samsung Galaxy S, so you do get a little variety in the device lineup.  Of course, these deserters will have to sign up for a new two-year contract with the carrier to get in with the deal.

It’s up to you guys to decide if you want to join the ever-growing Droid fleet or stick with your trusty ol’ iPhone, but we gotta admit this is an audacious effort on Cellular South’s part to lure some fresh fish to its end of the pond.  Especially since hawking your iPhone 4 on eBay would fetch a much better bargain with leftover cash to buy a Droid, don’t you think?
