CES: Tegra2-powered Motorola ATRIX gets the official stamp
Touted by the company as the world’s most powerful smartphone, the ATRIX has the gear needed to be just that and the device comes with a few “world’s first” tags in many departments, the most obvious being 1 gig of memory built in to aid the already powerful Nvidia Tegra2 processor chugging along at a clockspeed of 1GHz each core. It’s the first of Motorola’s devices to come with a 4-inch display based on a new tech called qHD, supporting a resolution of 960×540 with 24-bit color support. Other features include:
- 11 mm thickness
- 16GB of onboard memory with expansion up to 32GB via MicroSD
- 3G/HSDPA, HSUPA support (4G also in case of the AT&T variant)
- Bluetooth 2.1
- HDMI 1.3a spec media output
- Accelerometer, magnetometer, and proximity sensor
- 5mpx camera with 720p recording capability and a front-facing 0.3mpx camera for video calling
- Android 2.2 Operating System (upgradeable to 2.3?)
- 1930 mAh battery
There you have it, a definite powerhouse of a smartphone but as always, with great power comes a greater price tag. So start saving up if you want to get the ATRIX when outed in Q1 2011 on AT&T or the Q2 if you live in the UK.
Any reason why LG’s phone is reported to record 1080p video with almost the same specs as this phone?
