Dell Streak Pro 101DL dual-core smartphone for January 2012
Dell’s next Android smartphone, the Streak Pro 101DL, is scheduled for a release in January 2012 and if you think the device will be stale news by then, think again, as the handset seems equipped to take on the best of high-end smartphones even at such a later date. The device will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor aided by, we think, 1GB of RAM – this kind of horsepower has only been heard of when talking about the Nexus Prime, or whatever it’s going to be called when and if it is unveiled next month. For other features, there’s a 4.3-inch qHD SuperAMOLED display, an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3mpx front-facing lens. Unwired View says Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be the operating system running the show, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Ice-Cream Sandwich decided to make its way on to the device before its release.
As we said earlier, the Streak Pro 101DL will be available starting January 2012 with Japan kicking off things but Dell has big plans for this big device and will release it worldwide later on. As for how much, we’ll have to wait till next year to find out.
