European Motorola Atrix to get Android 2.3 in mid November; Xoom getting 3.2 by month end
It will be much longer before the carriers finish customizing the update for their branded Atrix smartphones, but what the hey, once the unlocked units start getting it, the others should some time soon right? Anyways, Motorola came out to announce the update and here’s what it had to say:
Many of you are eagerly awaiting the 2.3 upgrade for Motorola ATRIX and Motorola Milestone 2; as well as 3.2 for Motorola XOOM and we’re pressing ahead to get the new software ready. Due to some additional fixes that needed to be made, we’re now working towards releasing the software for Motorola XOOM at the end of October and for Motorola ATRIX and Milestone 2 in mid-November. We will let you know as soon as we are able to make the software available to you
As you can see, the European versions of the Motorola Milestone 2 and XOOM (the US version already runs Honeycomb 3.2) are also on the cards for updates, albeit earlier than the Atrix. We’ll be here to tell you if the updates remain on track or if there will be another delay before you can experience Gingerbread/Honeycomb goodness on your Motorola device.
