Facebook Quietly Releases Dedicated iPad App

Not only has Facebook finished their completed dedicated iPad app, but they’ve managed to release it in secret. The app code was hidden in yesterday’s update (version 3.4.4) to the iPhone app and it’s completely viable on jailbroken iPads.

Wondering how the dedicated app fares? According to TechCrunch the left-sided navigation system and use of overlay menus is “great,” as is the ability to chat with buddies while also having the ability to do other Facebook tasks in landscape mode.

It won’t be long now before Facebook decides to make the release official.

Update: It appears that Facebook has already taken measures to block the beta code from working correctly. Anyone with a jailbroken iPad who was able to snag it this morning is still able to play around in the app but with some limitations.
