Fully loaded LG Star Android phone pictured
And when we say fully loaded, we mean ultrahigh specs for a mobile that should put a low-end PC to shame. Phandroid, an emerging authority on Android phones, has snagged a few pics showing the unreleased Android 2.2 phone and a few important specs to go with them. The LG Star runs on the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 along with an unknown amount of RAM, an HDMI port (with 1080p recording and output), a huge 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display, and an 8-megapixel camera. There’s also a hint of a front-facing camera, so videocalling should be possible too. The phone currently runs on a slightly modified Froyo build but that could change upon its release and we could be seeing a Gingerbread phone at that point. According to berryjuice (who has the actual device on hand) over at AndroidForums, the device was put through its paces and was good enough to blow away the Samsung’s current shining star, the Galaxy S.
So, that’s LG’s answer to the next breed of Android phones that are getting ready for 2011 and we have to admit, we are impressed. In fact, we are so impressed we wish this could have been the Nexus Two. What do you guys think?
