Gold-plated Mobiado Grand GCB, a Nexus S with more than Gingerbread to offer
You could get a plain old Samsung Nexus S for a penny nowadays, but if you are the kind that strive to make a statement with their tech and have a big wad of cash to blow, take a look at this gold-dipped version of the same device
Mobiado, a well-known player in the ultrapremium mobile device segment, has announced the Mobiado Grand GCB, which doesn’t back down on tech or bling. The handset is adorned with 139 carats of sapphire crystal with a majority of it on its back, made of a single large sapphire crystal. The device’s body is also treated to a 24-karat gold-plated covering which is sure to get you mugged if you set your foot out of our Escalade without a care. The buttons are also covered with sapphire crystals, with the option to add more crystals to the corners of the device. The Android phone will be available in two color options – yellow gold and rose gold – but those looking to cut some cost can get one in aviation grade aluminum as well. The innards of the device are the same as those of any other Nexus S and will feature the same kind of 4-inch display, 5MP camera and Android 2.3.3 OS among other things.
The Mobiado Grand GCB is a device for technophiles that have a certain status to live up to and will obviously cost a fortune when released – we don’t know when this will happen exactly and we are pretty sure you aren’t holding your breath to know either, so might we interest you in a version that’s more affordable?
