Google Chromium Browser (Chrome) Unofficially Ported to the N900
Yet another awesome browser makes it’s way to the N900. This is not an official release, it is a port of Chromium for Debian, but it is said to be working pretty well aside from a few bugs that they are working on fixing. Chromium is a full fledged browser (like Chrome) that even runs full flash support. The Chromium browser on the N900 even got a 100/100 on the Acid test:
And for the second time today, great to see what hackers can do with their phones…
One other thing though, now the N900 has two full browsers with full flash support and the rest of us (Android, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Blackberry, and on and on) still don’t have a decent browser that gives a true desktop experience; pages don’t render properly, no full flash support (flash lite doesn’t allow flash games, hovering, or work very well for that matter), most can’t even load more than one page at a time (try to open one page then while it’s loading open another, if you go back to the first page, it has to refresh it before you can see it), etc.
Anyone else wish someone would make a full browser and have it run on say Android? (I’m looking at you Mozilla and Google…)
N900 users, check out the source link below for how to install it on your N900 🙂
