Google+ Field Test is Over, Moves Up to Beta Status Now Open to Everyone
Google announced today that its social network site, Google+ has now officially moved up to beta status now that their “field test” is over. The best part of beta status is that the social network is now open to everyone. No more begging and pleading with everyone on your Facebook page to send you a Google+ invite.
As part of the beta launch, Google+ now sports a handful of improvements to its Hangout video chat feature. Improvements include Hangouts for Android 2.3 enabled smartphones, a new Hangouts On Air feature for public broadcasts, and a garden variety of extras like screen sharing, a sketchpad and shared Google Docs. Additionally, Google has also added search functionality across the social network, and renamed the Huddle group chat feature to just “Messenger”.
