Google Talk Video Chat Now Working For T-Mobile Nexus S
T-Mobile Nexus S users were especially excited to update to Android 2.3.4 just for the ability to use Google Talk video chat. Better yet, T-Mobile promised the video chat service to be enabled over both 3G and Wi-Fi networks.
Unfortunately, many users quickly realized video calls were not able to be placed while on Wi-Fi, limiting users only to 3G. It only took about four weeks to fix but T-Mobile has reportedly solved the issue.
What was the hold up then? It appears T-Mobile was blocking the necessary P2P mode required by Google Talk. T-Mobile needed to figure out a way to enable that specific P2P for Google Talk while still blocking other kinds of P2P connections that use the same mode.
Now that the issue is resolved, it hopefully opens the door for Google Talk video chat on other T-Mobile devices running on Android 2.3.4 or higher.
