Google+ updated on iOS, now supports Instant Upload and What’s Hot features
Rarely do I use the Google+ nowadays, but I still keep it installed on my Android device for one major feature it has – Instant Upload. This allows every snap I took to automatically upload to the Google servers, ensuring that I have a backup of the pics somewhere else even if I end up misplacing the device. This feature had been missing until now on the iOS version of the app, but Google seems to have solved that via an update.
The update, numbered 1.0.9.4278, will enable iPhone users to upload all pics on their camera roll instantly to Google but with a catch – the app needs to be kept open for it to do so, while the Android version does this even if the app isn’t running. Accompanying Instant Upload is another feature called What’s Hot, which is also already available on the Android version – this brings the newest entries from your feeds to the fore, making it easier to access popular updates before others.
Look for it on your IDevice’s App Store or head to the web-based one here.
