How to Add a “Depth of Field” Look to Your LG G3 Photos
It seems that every manufacturer has jumped on board with the “depth of field” aka blurred background photo magic that was sort of started by HTC and the HTC One’s Dual Camera. While, HTC’s still is the only one that allows you to decide whether you want one of these blurred background shots or not AFTER you take the picture, essentially all of the manufacturers now allow you to do it using their prospective camera apps. Regardless of who did what first and how it’s done, one has to admit that, when done right, these SLR-like shots seem to just “look better” to the average viewer.
In this quick tutorial, let’s walk through how to enable and use thisĀ “Magic Focus” feature on the latest flagship from LG, the LG G3.
1. Open the camera app.
2. Tap on Mode.
3. Tap on Magic Focus.
4. Take a photo (this works best on close up objects).
5. Tap the photo when it’s done taking.
6. Tap on an item in the photo to adjust the focus to that item (and blur out the scenery behind it).
7. Use the slider to further adjust the focus blur (depth of field look).
Now get out there and start taking some closeups that’ll impress your friends and they won’t be sure exactly why…
