How To Close a Metro App in Windows 8

Even though Metro apps don’t use a lot of system resources when not in use, you may still want to close them. Unfortunately, there’s no X widget in the corner as with normal Windows programs, so where do you click? Using the Metro Task Manager is the best way, but don’t worry, it’s easy to get to.

1. Hold down Ctrl + Shift + Esc at the same time to bring up the Task Manager.

2. Highlight whichever app you want to close.

3. Select End Task.
