How to Customize the Navigation Buttons at the Bottom of the LG G3
While some manufacturers are still trying to hold on to the physical buttons that Android itself did away with a while ago (looking at you Samsung), others have realized it’s less things to break on the phone and is just more convenient. Part of that convenience is the ability to customize them. LG has jumped on board and even added a navigation button customization into the settings.
From rearranging the buttons to actually removing and adding new buttons (G Slide and Dual Window for example), there’s a setup that’ll suit your needs. In addition to that you can even autohide them in certain apps to get more out of the large gorgeous screen. Here’s how to use all of that and more.
1. Pull down the Notification Shade and tap the gear in the top right to get to Settings.
2. Tap Display.
3. Tap Home Touch Buttons.
4. Tap Button Combination to alter the buttons that show in the navigation bar.
5. Drag and drop what items you want in the navigation bar.
6. Tap on Color to change the color of the navigation bar.
7. Choose between White, White Gradation, Black, or Black Gradation.
8. Uncheck Transparent Background if you want the navigation bar to have a solid background instead of a transparent one.
9. Here’s what it looks like with a solid background.
10. Tap Hide Home Touch Buttons to choose certain apps that the navigation bar will disappear while using. Helpful for taking more advantage of the large, high resolution screen on the LG G3.
11. Check off the apps you want the navigation buttons to hide while using.
13. Here is what it will look like when using one of the apps that you have selected to hide the navigation on.
14. Swipe up from off the bottom of the screen onto it to have the navigation buttons temporarily reappear.
