How to Enable Quick Capture on the Moto X (2014)
We’ve all been there, and it’s a bummer. You go to capture the moment, but the moment’s gone. “Quick, get a picture of th — oh, never mind.” Things in life move quickly, so why shouldn’t your camera?! If you’ve got a Moto X, your camera can keep up with you and your hectic, weird life.
By enabling Quick Capture, a simple flick of the wrist will launch the camera straight away. All you have to do is wiggle your wrist quickly, and the camera will automatically launch! Here’s how to make sure you have it set up.
1. Open your camera app.
2. Select the slide-out settings wheel from the left.
3. Scroll to the bottom, where you’ll see an icon of the Moto X in a hand. Select it.
4. When you’re prompted make sure to turn the feature on. If it’s lit up in blue, you know it’s already on.
Now, select the home button to go back to your home screen. Turn the display off by pressing the power key once. Wait a few seconds, pick your phone up, and twist your wrist like you’re opening a stuck door knob (be sure to keep hold of your phone!).
Viola! Your camera app launched! If it didn’t, you need a bit of practice. Don’t worry, it took me a few tries, too. But hey, now you can capture the kids doing kid stuff or that neat street performer before the moment passes you by!
