How to Find Old Photos in Messages Threads on Your iPhone

Messages on your iPhone or iPad on the iOS 8 software is loaded with improvements.  When messaging on your Apple device under the new update, so many things are made so much easier.

How many times have we been sent a picture from a friend or family member that made us smile, and when weeks later you realize how great of an Instagram post it would make, you realize you can’t be bothered with trudging through days of old messages to find that picture you forgot to save?  Okay, maybe that’s too specific – but you get the idea.   Well, luckily for folks like us, among the improvements to Messages on iOS 8 is an easy fix to the age old of problem of having to scroll for what seems like a lifetime to find old attachments.

So, join me, as I guide you through the ins and outs of finding old photos in Messages with iOS 8.

1. Head over to your Messages app.

 

2.  Go to the conversation with the necessary attachments.

 

3.   Hit the details button on the top right of your message thread.

 

4.  At the bottom of the Details screen, you’ll see a collection of your old attachments!   You may have to scroll down depending on the attachment age.

 

Yep – it’s that easy!  Pretty sweet, huh?   What’s great about this, is that these go all the way back to the beginning of the conversation’s existence, so you get to take a little trip down memory lane, too.
